Soccer, Awana, and Stuff
Jesse's grandma is much better. She is still in rehab BUT she is counting the days for when she gets to go "home" back to the assisted living. She will be moving over this next Wed. She has done stuff there at rehab that I have never seen her do. I was so impressed.
Our yard is looking great. We hired Jesse's uncle to take care of it. There were limbs to be cut down, bushes to be wacked, and some trees to be cut down. It looks quite nice now.
I'm still teaching Spanish to the now 6 year old boy "M". He is doing great. We are on body parts and I am teaching him the song "head and shoulders, knees and toes" except in Spanish it is "head and shoulders, legs and feet".
I am not working at the Day Care anymore.
I have decided to start going to the Ladies Bible Study. There are a few ladies there my age. I am enjoying it and will keep going. We were asked to sign up for bring a snack. I decided to put my name down for Jesse's birthday. Thought that it might help me remember.
Awana started up and once again I am on the green team. Yeahhhhhh. I like green. First night of Awana we had more kids there then we had the last night of Awana last year. But it has dwindled a little since them. Last Wed. there were even less since school was out Thurs and Fri.
Someone from our SS had some computer problems. After taking it to 2 people and having no success. She asked for prayer in SS class. Jesse whispered to me to catch her after SS, which I did. Jesse talked to her and to make a long story short, Jesse was able to get all the stuff she needed off the hard drive. Needless to say she was very happy.
Soccer has started. Last Sat. was the first day. I had 22 kids, 4-6 yr olds, that I was suppose to coach since many of the other coaches didn't come. I finally had 2 parents who volunteered to help. I would get all the kids together and tell them (show) them what to do and then we would split up in 3 groups and practices.
A friend from college (she did my hair for the wedding) called up and asked if she could crash on my sofa this weekend. I told her she could sleep in our extra bed upstairs. She is coming in today and will leave Sunday sometime.

much a-going on
I worked of and on at the Day Care the rest of the month though it was only 3-5.
The last week of June Jesse's Grandma had another mini stroke. It wasn't as bad as the ones she has had before but it did leave her weak. With going in the ambulance and shifting around from bed to bed, her arms got very sore and then weak. She has practically spent a month in the hospital. She is now in rehab trying to regain strength in both her legs and arms. Through out the past month I've been "on call" for helping her out and taking care of things. Many days I would take Jesse to work and then spend almost all morning with her in the hospital.
July 8th was Pastor Egerdahl first Sunday. I was in the nursery. July 15th was his installment at the church. His father- in -law preached the morning service. I thought that was nice.
I got to take their membership picture on the 22nd.

Two years
On Monday we went to Dolly Splash Country. It was fun. We noticed a drastic change from two years ago when we went to D S C and this year. Two years ago we spent about 5 hours. This year we didn't make it past 3 1/2 hours. We're getting old. ha ha =)
On Tuesday we drove a scenic route to Cades Cove. We were told we might see bear, deer, rabbits, etc. The emphasis is on the word "might". =0 All we saw were trees, greenery, log buildings, and people.
On Wednesday we came home by way of the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg. Fascinating place! I picked up and held a horseshoe crab ... for about 3 seconds and then dropped it back into the water because it's legs touched my hands and scared me. Jesse was able to pet a manta ray. He says (I didn't see because I was sitting down) that a big manta ray slithered up the lady in the tank in order to get food.
All in all our little vacation went by wonderfully and too quickly.

Stuff a - going on
I turned in my 2 to 3 month notice that I will not be subbing next school year. I have enjoyed working at the day care, though it isn't "my cup of tea". I can handle working with the kids for a day or two every other week but any more than that and I am ready to strangle some kids. I am not sure what I will do next year but I do have enough to do with out adding outside work, if I dedicate myself.
We have a "candidate" for our next Pastor. But because of privacy issues I can't say who he is. We are excited that the end is in sight. I am not sure how soon he would come to fill the position if he is voted as pastor.

Happy Birthday's
A Happy Birthday wish to the following people
My nephew Victor who turned 4 on March 30.
My Dad who turned ?? No I won't tell on April 14.
My bother Robert who turned 23 on April 19.
My Aunt Jeannie (I don't know when her birthday is but it is in April.)
A very long time
I don't really remember what happen much. I don't think I will divide up the two months but I will just sum things up.
Day Care
I worked the first week in March in the Kindergaden Day Care. The lady I subbed for because her mom was in hospice came back March 9th. Her mom had passed away early in the week. (She was a Christian.) I did not work in the Day Care until the 3rd week in April and that was just for a few days. I am trying to sub no more than 3 days a week now.
Family
In March Mom came to visit for a few days. She came a few days before Bible Conference at BJ, then went to Bible Conference, and finally came back for a few days after Bible Conference. Jesse and I took her up to Bob Jones Saturday the 17. We had a "Family Gathering" in which the only ones missing were Dad and Robert.
This coming Saturday Jesse and I will go to BJ to get Alissa. In Jesse's words "Alissa is graduating from her Freshman year". (I might not have the quote just right.)
Church
We still do not have a pastor. Last night (Sunday) the message was about "Being the Right Type of Person in the Church". Basically it was about how everyone of us is suppose to have all 5 points in our lives. Don't remember all the points but three of them were Love, Growth, and Fruit.
Last Wed. was our last AWANA meeting. It was called "Party Night". This coming Wed. we are having the Awards Ceremony. I helped out in Sparks. We are going to say our Motto, Theme Verse, and sing our Theme Song. It will be fun.
well, I think that was a fast wrap up.

February
I have been working at the Day Care for about 3 weeks straight now. This has been in the Kindergarten Day Care. The lady I am subbing for has gone to see her mom. She (the mother) is in hospice and is at the point of death but right now is holding her own. I am not sure when she will return but I will be happy when she does return to take her job back. We have about 40 children that we feed and then 25 or so that we watch over while they sleep. Then after nap time we have about 30 kids until their parents come to pick them up.
Our church is still searching for a pastor. The Pastor Search committee has been busy. Please pray for them as they are seeking God's will for our Church. Meanwhile the Assistant Pastor (who is also the Youth Pastor) is acting as the Senior Pastor. Pray for him as he has lots on his hands too. I have been asked to take the pictures for New members. So far I have not had to take pictures. I suppose they are afraid of me. :)
Feb. 1st and Jan. 18 we had a 2 hour delay for schools and businesses. The reason: BAD WEATHER. And did we have terrible weather? NO. There was some snow on Feb 1st but other than that both days were Okay. No worse than any rainy day.
My mole above my right eye had been growing, pussing, and hurting. I got it checked out and yesterday had it removed. Now I got 3 stitches that I will have removed Wednesday. Yesterday afternoon my head was hurting, I told Jesse "I feel like if someone cut me." He told me "Someone DID cut you."
Duh Corene! is that why I have this gauze on my eyebrow?
Well, that sort of covers for this month.

January
I changed over to the new blogger. It looks the same but I do see some differences.
We went to a wedding. A very beautiful wedding. I think there might have been about 200 guest. The mothers lit candles in memory of the grandparents and uncle of the bride and groom. There were candles galore and lots of greenery. Jesse and I both decided that though this wedding was nice we still wouldn't trade it for ours.
The reception was held at a hotel about 5 minutes from the church. Food was in abundance. It was in buffet style. First was fruit (melon, pineapple, strawberries, etc.), then veggies (carrots, tomatoes, broccoli, etc.), then meatballs, crab salad, chicken tenders, shrimp, and, nachos with bean salad dip (which contained beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, corn, and other stuff.)
Oh, and at the very end of the line was a carving station with roast beef and rolls.
The wedding party took all the pictures while we were feeding our faces. When they finally got to the reception they cut the cake and then the bride and father did a waltz. I have no idea when they served the cake because Jesse and I left right then.
Drip, drip, drip don't you just hate it when you have a drippy faucet? We have had on for a long
time. Sometimes it wouldn't drip and then other times it dripped like crazy. The other day it wouldn't turn off at all. So Jesse went to LOWES and got the part he needed and fixed the faucet. Now it doesn't drip. Yeahhhhhhhh for Jesse.
The cats have decided that it is their obligation to keep us company during the night. Thankfully they do sleep all night. Ummmmm with the exception of Chaos. She will growl if you move and if you continue to move she jumps off the bed waiting for you to stop moving and then will once again jump back on the bed and get comfortable.
I noticed that my mole over my eye has changed. I can't really describe what was going on but I do know that it hurts to touch it sometimes. I went our doctor and was referred to a dermatologist. I go Feb. 5.
Jesse and I, for fun, decided to watch "The Lord of the Rings". I enjoyed it except for all the battles which I tolerated because I wanted to find out what happened. There was not a bad word in any of the movies. I had at one time started to read "The Hobbit" but I just couldn't get into it. I checked out "The Hobbit" along with the 3 books of "The Lord of the Rings". I laughed my way through "The Hobbit" and am now enjoying the first book "The Fellowship of the Ring".
Work has been going well. I have worked almost constantly all of January. They are searching for part time workers. I hope they find some.

Question
New Year Resolutions
I suppose NYR are good because if you choose attainable resolutions you will reach it. Or if you choose just out of reach resolutions and work at attaining them you succeed. So many times people will choose something that is just out of this world and then can't figure out why they can't follow through with it.
Happy New Year everybody.
My Christmas updated. Jesse had Christmas Break from Dec. 21 to Jan 2. We decided that our own Christmas would be held on Dec 22. The corporate decision took place because on the 25th we would be heading up to Greenville to be with his relatives by 10 and not get back until 8pm. I gave Jesse a T-shirt. Please check the link. This is no ordinary T-shirt. Jesse gave me an electronic Soduku game. It has over 800 preset games.
On the 25 all of Jesse's family congregated at one of his cousins house. We had a wonderful turkey dinner and lots of fun. This Christmas was the first Christmas that all the "cousins" were married and were together the whole time. The last few Christmas' that I had spent with Jesse's family not everyone was there. Jesse's Grandma also was there. It was fun spending time with family.
I was a little down though because Christmas Eve I received new that my Great Grandma "Grandma Lydia" had passed away that morning. She was a wonderful Christian woman and I know I will see her again some day.
This Christmas season I worked some at the Day Care. Last Christmas I came right out and said that I was not working at all. I think I have worked about 3-5 days in total. I cooked for about 20 kids ages 1-3. It was a lot of fun for me though I think the people I pestered "Now how do I do that?" and such questions probably didn't think it was all that fun. There is a difference between cooking for Jesse and cooking for way more people. That is my own personal opinion.

What a day
As I sat down at the teacher's desk looking over the lesson plan I mentally checking off the things I understood. All of the sudden I see something that makes my heart start throbbing again. Do these 3 year olds really know this? What will they think about me when they find out I don't know it? Agonizing thoughts rush through my brain while I finish going over the lesson plan. It's now 10 til and I walk back down the hall and step through the doorway. More children have arrived. There are more kids walking around and goofing off than watching the video. I walk up to a teacher and ask her a question. "You don't know that?" is the reply I get. confess I don't know all of it and that I feel bad since K3 kids know it. She told me to skip it if I was uncomfortably with it. Her words comforted me for the moment.
Nervousness arrived and asked to stay while my class lined up. Then I pushed Nervousness away when I saw that only three, yes only three, tres, treƮs kids lined up. We're now off to the classroom zone.
Settling in was crazy. Today is "Stuffed Animal Day". Some have big ones that won't fit in their cubicles. Others have noisy ones that I need to find the off button to. They want to keep their stuffed animal by their seat so I let them as long as they don't play with them. They start coloring while I gather my wits. Look at watch, oh, it's time to say the pledge. I told the students to stand up. We said the pledge and afterwards I wanted to pray. BUT before I prayed a little boy said "Now we sing 'My Country 'tis of Thee". I swallowed hard. I get confused with the words. Don't know it all. How can K3ers know this song and I have to see the words to know how to sing it. Bravely I say "you all will have to sing it well and loud because I don't know all of it." Oh me, Oh my, those K3 students really do know that song. Meanwhile during the song the principal comes through the door. He sings with us (I mean with the children since I really am not singing 'cause I can't remember the words). He tells the students to listen to me because I'm the teacher for today since their teacher is sick. With that he leaves. The kids finish coloring. I mark down how many are here for snack and lunch. Then we're off to the bathrooms. Back in the classroom we learn about Wise Men visiting Jesus. We sing songs, read a book, and review our letters A-J. Then we jump, turn around, stomp our feet, clap our hands, count to ten and sing more songs. We learned about the jungle and about the pigmys that live it the jungle. They follow a Honey Bird to the honeycomb where the bees are. Then they build a fire and put the bees to sleep. They break open the honeycomb and scrape away the honey. But they do leave some for the Honey bird. After we learned about the pygmy's we walked down the hall to snack. Then once again back to the room for our coats and off to recess. After recess we went to the bathroom and then to the water fountain. Then back to the classroom for rest time. Everyone put their head down on the table and listened to Christmas music.
Since I also had to work at Daycare the class I was teaching combined with the other K3 class for Art.
And that was my day. :)

Jesse's birthday
He had started not feeling good Friday night. We were going to Greenville with two other couples to see the Christmas Vespers on Saturday. Jesse stayed home to rest while I went to Greenville. I was able to spend about 2 hours with Alissa. We played a game and then studied some for her finals. I was also able to purchase some gifts for Jesse. Around 5 we (my friends I came with) ate supper at one of their parents house. It was delicious. The Vespers which was an opera, Simeon, was really good. We got home around 12. Long day.
Sunday was our Christmas cantata. It was good. Jesse didn't go because he wasn't feel good.
Hopefully he will feel better soon. Right now he is resting.

Christmas season is here
Next week is our church's cantata and they are doing "The Greatest Gift" by Ron and Shelley Hamilton. Tonight the choir sang "I want a Simple Kind of Christmas" a song from the cantata. I thought they did well.
Please pray for Jesse and his work. He is getting lots of extra work thrown at him.

after Thanksgiving
On Monday we went to a semi-empty parking lot and Alissa practiced driving. She is doing well in my estimation. I showed her where I work and then off to Greenville we went. The road up and back were good.
I do have to say that it seemed a little lonely at home when Jesse and I got back on Monday.

Trip to Greenville and back
On Tuesday I dropped Jesse off at work and then headed on up to Greenville. Right away even before getting on the interstate we all (on my side of the road) had to cram into 2 lanes instead of 3 because of a fender bender. Ok, so I will give them some credit... the front left light was smashed. After get passed that little time waster I was on my way again. In Columbia it was all cloudy but as I kept traveling to Greenville the sky started getting blue and pretty. (Now "pretty sky" is very subjective here with Jesse and me. For me "pretty sky" is blue and clear. For Jesse "pretty sky" is cloudy and stormy.)
I made it to Greenville is ok time. Normally it takes about 1 1/2 hours but this time it took closer to 2 b/c I was driving slower. I used cruse control the whole time and it was FUN.
I called Alissa to say that I might not make it to her class but I did. I made it by about 5 minutes. :)
Jesse called telling me to be careful driving back because it had begun sleeting. He was also worried that I had been driving through it but I told him that it was a blue pretty (my pretty) sky.
I got to go to two of Alissa's classes. I know both her teacher. Had one in fact in school and the other I met when I was in Elementary school.
We ate at the Dining Common. I called my former supervisor and asked her if there was someone who would like to take me to lunch. So one of my former coworkers let me in on her visitors card. Saved about $5 or so.
After lunch Alissa had to meet with some people so I went on my merry way. I visited the people at the Jr. High where I worked for 7 years serving food. And then I called on of my teachers who was also my advisor, supervisor, teacher, and a friend in school.
I then had to go meet Alissa at a predestinated place. Just right before 4 we started on our way to Columbia.
The trip started off well. We saw around 3 or so accident, well, the aftermath of the accident. Then about an hour down the road it started raining. The sky turned dark. I drove around 50 and 60 mph in the 65 and 70 mph zones. Cars were passing by me but I felt safer driving slower and staying on the right.
We had to stop and pick up Jesse's suits and pants. We then went home unloaded her stuff and went to pick Jesse up. Then we all headed off to the Tue. night Thanksgiving service.
Praise the Lord we had a safe trip.

Saturday and Sunday
Sunday (today, or yesterday considering the time) we had a good church service. Not to say that we normally don't have a good one. Anyway the preacher spoke on the "what, who, where, why, when of Thanksgiving". The text was out of Ps. 118 O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is good, because His mercy endureth forever. This is paraphrased and not quoted.
The evening service we had a service of praise. There were about 10ish people who gave a testimony of Thanksgiving unto God. Some things were of this year but others were of stuff from the past. The testimonies were the message. It was so wonderful to see the blessings of the Lord that has come from trials.
My sister will be here for a week. I'm not sure if I will write any while she is here.
So if not... Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
